Panorama - Cliffs of Moher, at O'Brien's Tower

At the highest point of the Cliffs of Moher is the O'Brien Tower. It was built in 1835 by a "colorful" landlord, Cornelius O'Brien. (Books I read say he took credit for many local projects, but in reality made his tenants pay for the construction.)

Here you can observe the many colorful birds (including puffins, razorbills, and ravens) that inhabit the cliffs. (OK, ravens aren't colorful....)

Doolin
Just a few miles north of the Cliffs of Moher is Doolin, a great little village. You can hear beautiful folk music in the pubs there just about every night, and in the day catch ferries over to the Aran Islands (at its Fisherstreet port).

One night, I had an incredible meal just by hanging out in the back of a Doolin pub, with a bucket of fresh mussels, a loaf of freshly baked bread, and a pint or two of freshly pulled Guinness. Ah, now that's living!
