Northern County Clare

The tour starts off in the northwest corner of County Clare, a tough yet beautiful section of the country. County Clare extends off of Ireland's west coast into a peninsula jutting into the Atlantic, and contains geography both striking and surreal. The limestone that covers the region at first appears barren, but closer inspection shows it's full of life. Northern County Clare contains landscapes as unusual as any I've ever seen. On a peronal note, my mother's side of the family (McNierney/McInerney) came from this area in Ireland.
